With spring upon us and lockdown restrictions beginning to ease, it really does feel like brighter days are round the corner. We are delighted that the Scannappeal team have been reunited and are now all working back in the office. The office is now fully open and our office hours are: Monday – Friday, 9am – 4.30pm. After working at home for the majority of the year, it feels great to see one another in person rather than virtually – it offers an element of normality and structure – long may it continue. The team are more determined than ever to ensure that Scannappeal keeps doing what it does best to support our local hospitals.
Not only has the office had it doors closed, but we had to close the doors on our bookshops too. Whilst the Wycombe shop remained accessible with the usual ‘honesty payment’ Amersham and Stoke Mandeville have had little trade all year. However we are so pleased that from Monday 12 April the doors will be open across all three shops and we can’t wait to welcome you. This also means that we will be welcoming back some volunteers too, even though in a slightly scaled back capacity, who we have missed so much over the last year.
It is wonderful that we have been able to plan and implement our open garden season. We hope that you will come along to enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces of these privately owned gardens and indulge in some refreshments and homemade cake. If that is not your cup of tea, maybe you would like to register to take part in one of our many fundraising challenges from our virtual Lands End to John O’Groats to Skydiving, or taking on the Chiltern 50.
We continue to raise funds to support our current appeals, including the Bucks MRI Appeal, Cardiac Appeal and the Best for Bucks Appeal. We are currently in the process of confirming an exciting major new appeal, so watch this space for further details.
Even though we are not 100% clear what the future of our event fundraising looks like, we are delighted that we are beginning to offer some events for you to enjoy. We want to thank each and every one of you that continues to support us, either by making a donation, taking on your own fundraising challenge, setting up a monthly donation or simply visiting our website to find out more information.
