Application Process

For over 37 years we have funded and supplied revolutionary medical equipment to every major department in Amersham, Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville hospitals. Why not help your department become cutting edge.

Clinicians working within Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust may apply for capital funding from Scannappeal for equipment which will either bring about a step change to an existing service for patients; or allow a new service for patients to be introduced. Applications are not usually considered for replacement equipment.

Small Projects – up to £50,000

Bids for small projects can be submitted to Scannappeal for consideration by their Trustees who meet on a quarterly basis (normally Feb / May / Aug / Nov).  If approved, funding may be available immediately or within six months.

Major Public Appeals - £100,000+

Bids for projects with a value of £100,000+ usually form the basis of a major public appeal and, if approved, would form part of Scannappeal's external fundraising programme.  It can take up to two years to raise funds (dependent on the amount requested, the hospital site and the specialist area).

What Next?

1. Bids must be presented using a template business case, please contact us and we can email this to you.

2. Bids should be submitted to the Medical Equipment Panel (MEP) by email for the business case to be assessed in terms of wider considerations within the Trust.  MEP meet monthly and you will be invited to attend a meeting in order to present your case and answer any questions members of the panel may have.

3. Bids deemed to be suitable for charitable funding are then reviewed by Scannppeal Trustees at their quarterly meetings. You will be notified of the decision made as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions or would like an informal discussion about your plans, please contact the Scannappeal office in Amersham on 01494 734161 or karen.shardlow@nhs.net
