The Bucks MRI Appeal received a significant boost for the MRI scanner at Stoke Mandeville hospital thanks to a donation of £20,000 from Roger and Jean Jefcoate. This is our largest single donation to date for this second scanner and has been match funded by an anonymous local benefactor. Roger and Jean’s particular interest is in health and disability charities that help older people, so with one third of all MRI patients aged over 65, their support will make a big difference to this group. These scans are mainly for acute problems like stroke, as well as investigation of confusion, dementia and Parkinson’s disease investigation, also treatment planning and scans of the spine. We are hugely grateful to Roger and Jean for their continued support of Scannappeal’s work over many years.
