Leading Wycombe based accountancy firm Seymour Taylor have been supporting the charity Scannappeal throughout June by taking part in a 500 mile exercise challenge.
A team of volunteers from Seymour Taylor decided to challenge themselves to travel 500 miles between them using any form of exercise running, cycling or walking over a 5 week period. The goal was to raise ÂŁ500 for Scannappeal, which is a charity that the team at Seymour Taylor have supported for over 30 years.
Director, Rachel Pugh at Seymour Taylor, said “As part of our ongoing CSR commitment we like to work alongside a local charity each year, taking part in an event our team can support and get involved with”. “Exercise boosts the immune system, improves mental health and aids with the production of melatonin which is essential for restful sleep”. “This is so important during these unprecedented times that we are all facing so an hour or so of exercise a day has been a welcome distraction”. “Scannappeal like so many other charities have seen all of their fundraising events cancelled so far this year due to COVID-19, so we wanted to do something for them to raise awareness for the charity and much needed funds at the same time”. “In total the team actually completed 1,503 miles between them and have raised £520”. “The challenge has been great fun with our volunteer’s families and dogs even getting involved with the event”.
