2020 has so far been an uncertain and worrying time for all of us. As a charity, we have witnessed first-hand many wonderful acts of kindness but yet we continue to see the impact of COVID-19 daily.
Since March 2020 donations to Scannappeal have understandably slowed down as our community rightly put their family and loved ones first. This together with a programme of cancelled events and closed book shops means that we currently estimate a gap in our annual fundraising income of over ÂŁ200,000.00. A donation of any size will help us to continue to fund world class equipment for hospitals here in Bucks.
Right now our dedicated NHS colleagues continue to face unprecedented times as they work hard to ensure as many services as possible can start to return to a new type of normal. As you might expect there is a waiting list of appointments postponed due to COVID-19, as well as the usual urgent demand on services to support diagnosis and treatment. The delivery of a second MRI scanner, due in January 2021, and our planned future projects will help to ensure clinicians are supported by the very latest technology .
Scannappeal has supported Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust hospitals for 33 years by providing pioneering equipment – together we can ensure this continues in 2020 and beyond.
