On Saturday 10 September, when many of us were contemplating a leisurely weekend at home, a team of 18 Scannappeal supporters left Amersham hospital at 7am in the morning to take on our Bucks Hospital Hike. The two day challenge, which connected the three main hospitals we fundraise for, saw the walkers cover over 50 miles in two days, with the route taking in some of the most beautiful (and steepest) parts of the county. On day one, walkers visited Great Missenden, Coombe Hill, Ellesborough, Stoke Mandeville and White Leaf before staying overnight in Princes Risborough. Day two saw another early awakening with the team heading towards Bledlow, then West Wycombe, High Wycombe hospital and Penn before reaching the finishing line at Amersham hospital. We are sure you will join us in congratulating the team, whose aches and pains and blisters have now hopefully healed to leave a great sense of pride in what they achieved.
