Lands End to John O’Groats Virtual Race

Run the length of the UK in support of our local Bucks NHS hospitals.
Who will reach John O’Groats first?

Starting from the 1st September teams of up to 10 people can register to take part in the Scannappeal virtual race following the iconic route from Lands’ End to John O’Groats. As a team you will need to cover the full 874 miles and work together to motivate one another to reach the end. Every mile you cover by foot can be included in your group total and it doesn’t matter if you walk or run or decide to pound the treadmill rather than venture outdoors.

Registration is £8 per person and we encourage each team to set up a Just Giving page with a target of £250, but you could set out to try and raise £1 for every mile you cover and be in with a chance to win our team sponsorship prize.

The race officially starts on 1st September and the first team to reach John O’Groats will be awarded with a prize and all participants will receive a medal.

All monies raised will support our work within Buckinghamshire NHS hospitals, now more than ever they need our support. The benefits will also be great for everyone taking part – spend time away from your desk, improve your fitness and take great pride from working together to make something great happen!

FAQ’s

How do we log our miles? We will ask each team to set up a group on Strava and by including a member of the Scannappeal we can track and share your mileage.

Is there a maximum number per team? Yes, a maximum of 10 people in any one team.

Do I have to run? No, you can walk too. Every mile counts!

Can I include miles from another race I am planning to do? Yes, we encourage you to count every mile. Remember you can only include mileage from 1st September.

Can I cycle? Sorry no.

What is the end date? We think each team will be finished by the end of September but if it takes longer that is OK. The first team to finish will receive a special prize.

Do we have to raise sponsorship? We are encouraging each team to set up a Just Giving page with a target of £250. The team who raises the most money will receive a prize.

We are a team of mixed ability, is that OK? Yes, its all about working together to reach the end. Someone walking 1 mile every day is just as important as someone else running 10 miles.

Can the company I work for would like to pay our registration fees and donate? Yes, his can be done online or contact Karen by email on karen.shardlow@nhs.net
