Bucks Hospital Hike is a brand new event for 2022. So why not step up for the challenge and join us for this two day hike across Buckinghamshire. Taking place on the 10-11 September and covering a total of 50 miles across two days, the event will not only be challenge but a fantastic way to take in the beautiful Bucks countryside while fundraising to support your local NHS hospitals.
Day 1 will see us following footpaths and bridleways from Amersham hospital to Great Missenden, Wendover, Stoke Mandeville hospital and finishing at Princes Risborough where overnight accommodation will be provided.
Day 2 from Princes Risborough will pass Bledlow Ridge, West Wycombe, Stokenchurch, High Wycombe hospital and Penn before reaching the finishing line at Amersham hospital.
Our Hospital Hike aims to bring patients, family, friends and neighbours from across our community together with the common goal of raising funds for Buckinghamshire NHS hospitals. You can walk as an individual or as part of a team, which ever you choose rest assured you will be walking with the Scannappeal family.
FAQ’s
When does the hike take place? Hospital Hike is a two day event starting at Amersham Hospital on the morning of Saturday 10 September. Registration includes an overnight stay in Princes Risborough.
How much does it cost to take part? A Registration fee of £75 per person is payable, plus a sponsorship commitment of £1,000 or more. These costs cover all the trip expenses including group guides, accommodation, food, insurance and hike t-shirts.
How far is the hike? The guided hike will cover a total of 50 miles across two days, approximately 25 miles a day. Whilst we recognise this is a significant challenge (and obviously very worthy of sponsorship!) please do not panic about needing to be ultra-fit. If you are in good health, we can work together to make it happen. A full training plan will be shared, plus you will receive lots of encouragement and top tips as we get closer to the event.
Can I walk with friends? Yes, we really encourage you to ask friends and family to join you and we can make sure groups of friends walk together.
