Who Do You Think You Are? The Rise Of Modern Genealogy. A Talk By Nick Barratt

October 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

- £15.00

Famous professor, author, broadcaster and historian Nick Barratt returns with his informative and exciting talk.

Nick Barratt will talk about the rise of genealogy as a mainstream activity over the last 15 years, thanks mainly to TV programmes such as Who Do You Think You Are and the internet. He will take the audience ‘behind the scenes’ to show how the programme was commissioned and made – as well as an overview of how to trace your family, and why it is so important to do so. Nick will conclude with a highly popular Q&A session.

Professor Nick Barratt is an author, broadcaster and historian best known for his work on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are. He is an honorary associate professor of public history at the University of Nottingham, and Associate Director, Collections and Engagement, at the University of London’s Senate House Library as well as a teaching fellow at the University of Dundee. His most recent publication, The Forgotten Spy, tells the story of his great uncle – Stalin’s first mole in Whitehall – and is working on The Restless Kings, which explores the reigns of Henry II, Richard I and John. He is currently the President of the Federation of Family History Societies and sits on the Executive Committee of the Community Archives and Heritage Group.
