Pipers was the family home of the Liberty family from its creation in 1913 on Pipers Meadow, until 1998 when Fiona and William moved in with their young family. The design of the garden remains largely the same, but has been extensively reworked and replanted by Fiona and William since. You can see traces of the old design in the walled garden which was built by Arthur Lazenby Liberty; on one of the walls he has built his initials into the brickwork.
The pond is relatively new, replacing an older structure and this area is constantly being re-designed by Gunna the black Labrador, who takes great delight in swimming and removing plants from it to dry on the lawn.
The original vegetable garden was redesigned to be dog and badger proof about 10 years ago by William. The Rose garden was planted by Mrs Stewart-Liberty.
