Admission: £6 per adult on the gate to include a glass of wine or soft drink.

Description: A one-acre garden leading to 3 acres of mixed woodland.  The shrubberies and flower borders are not manicured but contain a wide variety of plants which the owners have accumulated during the 20 years since they acquired the property.  Originally the garden was virtually all grass and surrounded by major trees and the woodland, the site of a brickyard.  Today the woodland has paths, seats and many new young trees; a fernery plus a 100m walkway bordered by some 4,000 daffodils in the spring.  The garden has had roughly 2 dozen large trees felled which has opened it to sunlight and there are now 2 greenhouses, 2 ponds, beehives, hen runs, a vegetable patch plus several cultivated areas containing many unusual plants and shrubs.  More seating in the garden and on the patio at the rear of the house make it a peaceful space in which to drink a glass of wine and listen to live music provided by local musicians ‘Sue & Clive’.

Directions: From the centre of Cholesbury village take Cholesbury Road towards Tring.  After approx 100m turn left into Shire Lane. Montana is approx ½ mile along on the left hand side.
