The All Heart Appeal is raising money to buy two latest generation 3D scanners to diagnose and evaluate heart disease. The advanced cardiovascular imaging system uses ultrasound to generate detailed, real time, 4D moving images of the heart. One of the scanners comes with unique Polarvision which allows a 3D reconstruction of the beating heart to be projected from an adjacent screen. This is a truly amazing tool that allows the clinician to view the heart in detail prior to planning heart surgery. To support us, please view our All Heart Appeal Leaflet.
The Eye See Appeal – £265,000
The ‘eye see appeal’ is raising money to purchase five specialist machines. Three are for cataract surgery (phacoemulsification) and two for more complex eye surgery (vitrectomy) helping to improve and restore vision. 4,500 local patients with cataracts, bleeding inside the eye, macular degeneration and detached retinas, will benefit from this new technology each year. View the leaflet here for more information.
The Cancer Fighting Fund- Phase 6 – £130,000
Please help us to raise £130,000 for equipment to treat patients with prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, and other urological conditions. The cases of these cancers is increasing due to better detection. Advanced equipment will allow surgeons to radically improve the precision of laparoscopic surgery, some of which require the dissection and reconstruction of the urinary system. Once purchased, Buckinghamshire will be one of the first counties to have this specialist urological equipment.
The Breast Biopsy Appeal £350,000
The Breast Biopsy Appeal is raising money to fully equip a dedicated biopsy suite with life saving 3D mammography technology. The new biopsy suite will improve the patient experience and reduce waiting times.
Targeted biopsies will be carried out quicker with pinpoint accuracy, significantly reducing the time patients need to wait from diagnosis to treatment. In addition, this cutting edge equipment will help in diagnosing very small cancers at an early stage, therefore improving prognosis.
Small Projects Programme
We also raise funds for smaller projects. Typically from £5,000-£25,000, recent projects have included providing specialist equipment for respiratory medicine, audiology, endoscopy and haematology. Click here to see more information on past and present programmes.
