A HUGE Congratulations and Thank You to our two marathon runners on completing the 2016 Virgin London Marathon.
Christina Foxwell, completed the course in 4hrs 7mins and said she’s “quite pleased if not a little stiff! I’m delighted to say I’ve raised over £1800 so far and I think I’ve got a few last minute donations coming in. My best memory of the day was the camaraderie from the other runners and the massive boost from the crowd. Mile 18 was tough but I got a huge up lift from seeing some friendly faces”.
It’s the second marathon for Max Jolly who said, “It was an amazing day. The crowds and atmosphere were brilliant. All the way round there were crowds, 3-4 deep in places, that made running that little bit easier. The first half went well, almost enjoyable, but the last 7 miles were extremely painful! I was fighting cramp all the way home and so my pace dropped considerably towards the end but I made it home in 03:20 which I’m really pleased with.
My highlights included giving high-5s to most of London, coming through Cutty Sark and Tower Bridge, the sign that said ‘Touch here for power’ 1 mile from home, and getting over the line that couldn’t come soon enough.”
Christina and Max are on target to raise an amazing £7,000 between them, we thank them both for their support and hope their legs recover quickly!
