Building Society’s Boost for Cancer Fighting Fund

Buckinghamshire Building Society have demonstrated their support of the local community by donating £7,000 to our Cancer Fighting Fund project at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.   Andrew Craddock, Buckinghamshire Building Society’s CEO said: ‘Cancer has touched the lives of many of our members and staff and I am delighted that this donation will provide equipment to detect and treat cancers of the digestive tract which will benefit more than 1,000 patients in Buckinghamshire each year.’  The donation was from the Building Society’s Charitable Foundation which is managed by Heart of Bucks.

This £140,000 Appeal is for a C-arm fluoroscope which will mean quicker detection and diagnosis of colonic, pancreatic, oesophageal and stomach cancers, immediate precise treatments and faster relief of symptoms.  Lisa Trivett, Director of Scannappeal, said: ‘The donation by Bucks Building Society has taken the Appeal to over £100,000 and we are truly grateful to them for their support which will help so many local people.’
