SUMMARY:Open Garden - Pipers\, Great Missenden
DESCRIPTION:Pipers was the family home of the Liberty family from its creation in 1913 on Pipers Meadow\, until 1998 when Fiona and William moved in with their young family. The design of the garden remains largely the same\, but has been extensively reworked and replanted by Fiona and William since.  You can see traces of the old design in the walled garden which was built by Arthur Lazenby Liberty; on one of the walls he has built his initials into the brickwork. \nThe pond is relatively new\, replacing an older structure and this area is constantly being re-designed by Gunna the black Labrador\, who takes great delight in swimming and removing plants from it to dry on the lawn. \nThe original vegetable garden was redesigned to be dog and badger proof about 10 years ago by William.  The Rose garden was planted by Mrs Stewart-Liberty.

SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Whitchurch Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nAdmission: £5 per adult on the gate to include entry to all gardens in the group. \nDescription: The Old Granary – The garden\, which has been developed since 1992\, is part of a former farmyard.  Approximately ½ acre in size\, it has been planted with informal borders bounded by walls of local stone with gravelled and paved areas to provide year round interest. The inner garden includes the old farm granary and beyond there is a meadow garden with views of open countryside towards Creslow. Priory Court – the current owners purchased this 17th century home on ½ acre in February 2014 and have been going through the restoration process. This includes returning the gardens to their former glory\, as they had been neglected for a number of years. The crazy paving paths have been restored\, the overgrown areas cut back\, good old plants retained\, new ones added and the lawns re-laid. Quenington House – This garden\, extending to over an acre\, has been in the Ryder Richardson family for more than 80 years\, during which time the layout has changed frequently.  There is a croquet lawn and herbaceous borders with hedges separating it from the herb garden\, urn lawn and vegetable patch.  You will find a “secret” garden at the far end and wonderful views over the Vale of Aylesbury. Fielding House – Planned and planted 20 years ago by the present owner\, but somewhat re-modelled in early 2014 after being a chickens’ playground for 5 years\, this long\, narrow SW facing garden culminates in lovely views over farmland towards Waddesdon\, and comprises herbaceous borders\, some topiary\, patio area and winding lawn. Salem Cottage – A small\, part-walled courtyard garden\, landscaped with raised beds\, paving and gravel. The borders contain a mix of cottage-garden herbaceous plants\, climbers\, roses\, shrubs and annuals\, along with fruit and vegetables. The garden has a sunny aspect and a lovely view of the church. \nVenue Details \nMr & Mrs P Betts\, The Old Granary\, 2 Beech Tree Court\, Whitchurch HP22 4JR \nMr & Mrs P Ferrall\, Priory Court\, 52 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JS \nMr & Mrs D Ryder-Richardson\, Quenington House\, 7 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JU \nAnne Fraser\, Fielding House\, 31 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JA \nAndrea Scagell\, Salem Cottage\, Church Headland Lane\, Whitchurch HP22 4JX \n  \nDirections: Take the A413 north from Aylesbury towards Buckingham. SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Hall Place
DESCRIPTION:Admission: £5 in advance from Scannappeal or £6 on the gate. \nDescription: Hall Place is an early Georgian Grade II* listed town house built in 1736 adjacent to a 16thCentury Wall which relates to the Old Rectory and forms the eastern garden wall. The house was extended in 1818 when it became a school for ‘Sons of Noblemen and Gentlemen’.  The church acquired it in 1867 as the new rectory at which time it underwent major renovations including a ‘Queen Anne Style’ roof.  The gardens are to the south side of the house and originally extended down to a ha-ha from where one could view the Hall Barn Estate.  The main elements of the garden have been preserved/restored and consist of a parterre\, a long walk followed by a perambulation to the orchard and kitchen garden.  The present owners have also added a natural swimming pond which relates to the orangery built in 2007 where the swimming area is bordered by many pond plants including rushes.  Other features include a Bog Garden\, a ‘green roof’ and a Japanese Garden. Hall Place Gardens are listed on the county register of gardens of particular historical interest. Live musical entertainment will be provided by NoteOrious. \nDirections:  From the A40 in Beaconsfield Old Town\, Hall Place is located just past the roundabout on Wycombe End on the left hand side towards High Wycombe. \nParking: Parking is available in the public car park in Windsor Road. SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Towersey Manor
DESCRIPTION:Admission: £5 in advance from Scannappeal or £6 on the gate. \nDescription: Over the past 40 years the current owners have turned a large open ‘garden’ with no structure or shade into the cool\, leafy peaceful place of today.  Enthused by a trip to Sissinghurst Castle Garden\, a list of absolutely must-have plants and trees form the basis of this wonderful garden. Formal hormbeam hedges planted in 1975 now create a vista with separate corners leading off it incorporating both planted and informal areas.  There is also a nuttery\, yew hedges and a shaded summerhouse area.  The most recent project completed in 2000 invites visitors to the “Mound Meander” where a stroll along mown paths leads to a climb up the Mound for a fine view of the Chilterns. A display of aerial photography charts the development of the garden since the beginning.  Entertainment will be provided by Germains Male Voice Choir. \n  \nDirections: From the main crossroads in Towersey turn along Manor Road and continue for approx 200m. Towersey Manor is on the left. \n  \nParking: As directed by Scannappeal volunteers. \n  Disabled access\n\n  Refreshments (tea/coffee and cake) \n\n  Plant sale\n\n  Dogs on a lead \n\n\n Entertainment \n\n
