Riders can choose from two routes\, the longest being 100km and a shorter option 30km. In addition to this\, every extra pound that you raise over the minimum comes straight to the charity\, so please try to raise as much as you possibly can! \nThis challenge event is possible thanks to professional events organisers Skyline who receive a flat rate per jumper for organising the jumps for us. DESCRIPTION:Scannappeal Virtual Three Peaks Challenge \nWith a combined height of 3\,407m Ben Nevis\, Scaffel Pike and Mount Snowdon are the three mountains which make up the infamous Three Peaks Challenge. \nThroughout June we are encouraging you to take up the challenge of walking\, jogging or running 55km or 72\,180 steps. When the distance is complete it will be the equivalent of you walking up and down each of the three peaks. Our virtual challenge allows you to complete the distance however you want; circuits of your garden\, up and down stairs\, running or walking (at a safe 2m distance) aground nearby parks or fields or by simply recording your daily walk with loved ones and don’t forget to involve your four legged friends too! \nThe challenge is open to anyone\, and all you’ll need to do is record your daily steps. You can do this easily on your smartphone\, my using a pedometer or by setting up a daily circuit with a set distance. \nAll finishers will receive a special edition certificate and for youngsters we have a Three Peaks colouring sheet so that they can not only record their daily steps but also have something to show teachers\, family and friends. Download colouring sheet here. \nThe challenge costs £9 to join per adult\, £3 per child (under 12’s) and under 5’s are free. \nWe’re asking you to raise as much sponsorship as you can. If a family of four takes part and raises £220 that would be the equivalent of £1 per km\, per person. DESCRIPTION:The Amersham Polish Club present its annual New Year’s Eve Concert with the 20/20 Party Band in aid of Scannappeal. \nDance\, sing and party the night away to the 20/20 Party Band\, a group of top-class musicians including no less than five – yes five – vocalists for this special occasion. \nOn stage Alan Warner (guitar/vocals)\, original lead guitarist and vocalist with The Foundations of “Build Me Up Buttercup” fame; Roger “Snifs” Nicholas (bass/vocals) from 1980s hit-making band Gidea Park (“Beach Boy Gold”) and now also a member of The Foundations; the man with the big voice Wilby Meadows (keyboards/vocals); dynamic showman Mark Wright (guitar/vocals); and beat maestro Mark Forton (drums/vocals). \nAlan and Roger are fitting in this New Year’s Eve special between a major UK tour with The Foundations\, who had international chart-toppers with “Build Me Up Buttercup” and “Baby Now That I’ve Found You” as well as other major hits like “In The Bad Bad Old Days”\, “Back On My Feet Again”\, “Any Old Time You’re Lonely And Sad”\, “Born To Live\, Born To Die” and “Take A Girl Like You”. \nThey have appeared with their groups\, The Foundations and Gidea Park\, at some of our sell-out concerts in the past. \nDoors open 9pm Tuesday 31 December 31 and ends at 1am. \nTickets are £15 and can be purchased from The Record Shop Ltd in Amersham 01494-433311 (credit card bookings available). \nThis event is in support of Scannappeal. \n
