SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Whitchurch Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nAdmission: £5 per adult on the gate to include entry to all gardens in the group. \nDescription: The Old Granary – The garden\, which has been developed since 1992\, is part of a former farmyard.  Approximately ½ acre in size\, it has been planted with informal borders bounded by walls of local stone with gravelled and paved areas to provide year round interest. The inner garden includes the old farm granary and beyond there is a meadow garden with views of open countryside towards Creslow. Priory Court – the current owners purchased this 17th century home on ½ acre in February 2014 and have been going through the restoration process. This includes returning the gardens to their former glory\, as they had been neglected for a number of years. The crazy paving paths have been restored\, the overgrown areas cut back\, good old plants retained\, new ones added and the lawns re-laid. Quenington House – This garden\, extending to over an acre\, has been in the Ryder Richardson family for more than 80 years\, during which time the layout has changed frequently.  There is a croquet lawn and herbaceous borders with hedges separating it from the herb garden\, urn lawn and vegetable patch.  You will find a “secret” garden at the far end and wonderful views over the Vale of Aylesbury. Fielding House – Planned and planted 20 years ago by the present owner\, but somewhat re-modelled in early 2014 after being a chickens’ playground for 5 years\, this long\, narrow SW facing garden culminates in lovely views over farmland towards Waddesdon\, and comprises herbaceous borders\, some topiary\, patio area and winding lawn. Salem Cottage – A small\, part-walled courtyard garden\, landscaped with raised beds\, paving and gravel. The borders contain a mix of cottage-garden herbaceous plants\, climbers\, roses\, shrubs and annuals\, along with fruit and vegetables. The garden has a sunny aspect and a lovely view of the church. \nVenue Details \nMr & Mrs P Betts\, The Old Granary\, 2 Beech Tree Court\, Whitchurch HP22 4JR \nMr & Mrs P Ferrall\, Priory Court\, 52 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JS \nMr & Mrs D Ryder-Richardson\, Quenington House\, 7 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JU \nAnne Fraser\, Fielding House\, 31 High Street\, Whitchurch HP22 4JA \nAndrea Scagell\, Salem Cottage\, Church Headland Lane\, Whitchurch HP22 4JX \n  \nDirections: Take the A413 north from Aylesbury towards Buckingham.
