SUMMARY:Princes Risborough Rotary Club Charity Ramble
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for the 7th July and join Princes Risborough Rotary Club for their Rotary Charity Ramble with proceeds from the event benefiting Scannappeal and other local charities. \nWhat’s involved?   Choose either: \nThe Long Walk:\nApproximately 20 miles – divided into 3 sections – see indicative outline below – suitable for regular walkers or those wanting a challenge! The walk takes in open farmland\, meadows\, beech woods\, great views and a day out in the Chiltern Hills\, walking on ancient paths like the Ridgeway and the Icknield Way as well as sections of other well-known long-distance paths. If you don’t wish to walk the whole route\, there is a shuttle bus available from the two main waypoints to take you back to Wades Park. Why not ask your friends and family to sponsor you? \nThe Short Walk:\nApproximately 6 miles starting and finishing at Wades Park. While suitable for less experienced walkers and families\, it takes in villages at the edge of the hills such as Bledlow (there is the chance to take a small detour to the Lions of Bledlow pub – as seen in ‘Midsomer Murders! – approximately half-way round). \nWhen is it? \nSunday 7th  July 2024\nCheck-in opens from from 8:00am for the Long Walk and from 10:00am for the Short Walk. \nWhere? \nBoth walks start and finish at Wades Park\, Stratton Road\, Princes Risborough  HP27 9AX. Parking is available at Mount Car Park. \nWhat’s it for? \nThe walk is being arranged by Princes Risborough Rotary Club as part of the Risborough Festival.\nAll profits will be donated to Scannappeal* and local charities. \nHow much does it cost to take part? \nAll adults will be charged £10 to take part.  Children 16 and under walk free. \nCan I raise additional money for charity?\nIf you would like to ask friends and family to sponsor you please see our JustGiving page:\nwww.justgiving.com/campaign/prrcramble \nHow do I register?\nClick on the link below and complete the simple registration form and payment information. You will receive an email to confirm your registration. \nCan I register on the day?\nYes\, you can register when you arrive at Wades Park.  The fee for adults registering on the day is £15.  Children 16 and under still free. \nWalk details\nAt check-in you will receive full details of the walk and a map.  Marshalls will be present on major crossings and to help with directions.  The Control Centre at Wades Park will be available if you need any help during the day. \nRefreshments and Toilets \nAvailable at Wades Park and two stops on the route. \nDogs \nVery welcome – but please remember those bags! \nTransport \nThe Princes Risborough Community Bus will be running a shuttle service back to Wades Park and between refreshment stops if you can’t make it all the way – or if you just get too tired!  (a £2 charge will apply). \nWhat to bring with you \nYou should wear suitable clothing and footwear for a country walk.  It’s always important to stay hydrated – we don’t want to encourage the use of single use plastic so please bring your own adequate supply of water to drink. \nIssues with registration:  Please email  PRRCRamble@gmail.com\nThis is manned by volunteers and responses may take up to 24 hours.
