SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Towersey Manor
DESCRIPTION:Admission: £5 in advance from Scannappeal or £6 on the gate. \nDescription: Over the past 40 years the current owners have turned a large open ‘garden’ with no structure or shade into the cool\, leafy peaceful place of today.  Enthused by a trip to Sissinghurst Castle Garden\, a list of absolutely must-have plants and trees form the basis of this wonderful garden. Formal hormbeam hedges planted in 1975 now create a vista with separate corners leading off it incorporating both planted and informal areas.  There is also a nuttery\, yew hedges and a shaded summerhouse area.  The most recent project completed in 2000 invites visitors to the “Mound Meander” where a stroll along mown paths leads to a climb up the Mound for a fine view of the Chilterns. A display of aerial photography charts the development of the garden since the beginning.  Entertainment will be provided by Germains Male Voice Choir. \n  \nDirections: From the main crossroads in Towersey turn along Manor Road and continue for approx 200m.
