SUMMARY:OPEN GARDEN Hall Place
DESCRIPTION:Admission: £5 in advance from Scannappeal or £6 on the gate. \nDescription: Hall Place is an early Georgian Grade II* listed town house built in 1736 adjacent to a 16thCentury Wall which relates to the Old Rectory and forms the eastern garden wall. The house was extended in 1818 when it became a school for ‘Sons of Noblemen and Gentlemen’.  The church acquired it in 1867 as the new rectory at which time it underwent major renovations including a ‘Queen Anne Style’ roof.  The gardens are to the south side of the house and originally extended down to a ha-ha from where one could view the Hall Barn Estate.  The main elements of the garden have been preserved/restored and consist of a parterre\, a long walk followed by a perambulation to the orchard and kitchen garden.  The present owners have also added a natural swimming pond which relates to the orangery built in 2007 where the swimming area is bordered by many pond plants including rushes.  Other features include a Bog Garden\, a ‘green roof’ and a Japanese Garden. Hall Place Gardens are listed on the county register of gardens of particular historical interest. Live musical entertainment will be provided by NoteOrious. \nDirections:  From the A40 in Beaconsfield Old Town\, Hall Place is located just past the roundabout on Wycombe End on the left hand side towards High Wycombe. \nParking: Parking is available in the public car park in Windsor Road. From the main roundabout in Beaconsfield Old Town turn down Windsor Road and the car park is approx 100m on the right hand side.
