SUMMARY:Living - Private Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:***SOLD OUT*** \nAdapted from the 1952 Japanese film Ikiru\, LIVING is the story of an ordinary man\, reduced by years of oppressive office routine to a shadow existence\, who\, at the eleventh hour\, makes a supreme effort to turn his dull life into something wonderful – into one he can say has been lived to the full. \nNominated in the 2023 Bafta awards as ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ category and ‘Best Actor’ at the Oscars\, Bill Nighy is exceptional in his role as Mr Williams\, a veteran civil servant who in 1953 is buried under paperwork at the office and lonely at home. His life has long felt empty and meaningless. Then a shattering medical diagnosis forces him to take stock – and to try and grasp fulfilment before it goes beyond reach. Escaping to the seaside\, a stranger provides an epiphany: Williams should begin living in whatever time he has left\, perhaps creating a lasting legacy in the process. A must see for fans of Bill Nighy who has received numerous awards\, including two BAFTA Awards\, a Golden Globe Award and nominations for an Academy Award and a Tony Award. \nDoors open at 7.15pm\, film starts at 8pm. Event ends approx 9.45pm \nTickets are £20 each including a welcome drink on arrival or two tickets for £35 also including welcome drink. \nNo under 18’s. \nFree on site parking.
